MEET YOUR COACH
"Michael Sheehan is the head instructor at TGC. He's a Canadian jiujitsu athlete with 10 years of training and competing at the international level. Teaching from an early age gave Michael a deeper understanding of jiu jitsu and how to communicate the underlying principles, concepts, and techniques that make it the most effective martial art in the world. Since teaching his first kids classes, he has since developed a large clientele of both beginners and advanced competitors who seek his expertise to advance their jiu jitsu. Michael takes his students goals as seriously as his own, and takes great pride in seeing his students evolve. Michael's first goal for each student is to help them understand exactly what they're doing on a conceptual and physiological level- tension, leverage, weight displacement, balance. To master both the art and science of Jiu Jitsu- instead of merely mimicking the moves- that's what you get from Michael. His students don't simply gain an instructor- they gain mentorship, accountability, commitment, a champions mindset, and a new found route to excellence. He has held rankings like the top 10 brown belt in the world, per FloGrappling, 9th in the world at 69KG in the JJIF, and 20th in the world at 77KG in the JJIF. He likes to keep things fun while working hard!
